I am trial attorney from St. Louis, with 30 years of litigation experience. Most of my career has been on the defense side in civil personal injury and death suits in Missouri, Illinois and federal courts. I have had significant jury trial experience in complex personal injury, wrongful death and business litigation matters and am happy to say that most of the cases that I have defended have been brought by honorable plaintiff attorneys who truly believed their clients had legitimate claims and weren’t (in most cases) just in it for the money.

On the other hand, I have also frequently seen suits that have been filed that just don’t make much sense and therefore cost the legal system, and society as a whole, enormously. There are certainly wrongs that need to be righted in this world, and many legitimate claims out there. Somehow, however, the system has yet to figure out an effective way to weed out the really pointless suits and prevent them from tying up our system.
